Moong Dal

 
Ingredient


  • 1 cup boiled green moong dal
  • 2 cups boiled Potatoes 
  • 3 chopped Tomatoes 
  • 5 sliced green chillies 
  • 1 piece finely grated ginger 
  • 10 to 15 curry leaves 
  • Small bunch coriander leaves 
  • Rock salt to taste 
  • 1 cup Water 

For Seasoning 

  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds 
  • 1/2 teaspoon Methi seeds 
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 
  • 1/2 teaspoon Olive Oil


Procedure 

  1. In a pan, heat a little olive oil. Wait for the oil to turn hot and then add in the ingredients mentioned under seasoning. Fry the ingredients well for 2 to 3 minutes. 
  2. Now add to the pan the chopped tomatoes, sliced green chillies, grated ginger, curry leaves, salt, coriander leaves and fry on a medium heat till you see the oil separating on the sides of the pan. 
  3. Now to the pan add in the boiled potatoes, cooked moong dal and allow it to cook for another 10 minutes or so. Add in a little water each time you feel that the water is decreasing in the pan.
